Un del partes amusante de apprender Interlingua es comprender subitemente 1) le radice de multe parolas anglese, e 2) expressiones latin.
IL "de nihil" = ENG "you're welcome" (lit. "of nothing") > ENG "nihilism" = "nothingism" (cf. Latin "nihil" + "-ism")
IL "aperte" = ENG "open" > ENG "aperture" = "opening" (cf. Latin "apertūra")
IL "ambos" = ENG "both" > ENG "ambivert" (a person who has both introvert and extrovert features)
IL "infra" = ENG "under" > ENG "infrastructure" = "structure below ground" (cf. Latin "infra" + "strūctūra")
Similemente, post apprender le parolas interlingua "barba" (beard), "facer" (to do), "ubi" (where), "ibi" (there), "dolor" (pain), "sempre" (always), "faithful" (fidel), "vader" (to go) e "retro" (back), io pote ora comprender expressiones latin tal como:
"Barba non facit philosophum" (A beard doesn't make one a philosopher)
"Ubi amor, ibi dolor" (Where there is love, there is pain)
"Semper fidelis" (Always faithful)
"Vade retro me, Satana" (Get off my back, Satan).
Motivatum me sentio. Io me senti motivate. I feel motivated.
